When I work with younger athletes, it’s about passing on the mindset and work ethic needed to compete at the highest level. I emphasize discipline, consistency, and mental toughness. I share the lessons I’ve learned through my own journey — from the countless hours spent drilling face-offs to balancing academics and athletics. It’s powerful to see their determination grow as they realize that success isn’t just about talent; it’s about grit and dedication.
I push them to understand that every rep counts and that the small details make a big difference. Whether it’s hand speed, reaction time, or body positioning, I challenge them to strive for perfection while building confidence in their ability to compete. Seeing them develop not just as athletes but as confident young men is one of the most satisfying parts of the process.
